I attended Board meeting on the Friday night and the Board meeting on the Saturday morning and The NC meeting in the afternoon.
I helped at this event, providing the disco equipment for this MAG money raiser. Yet to get report of monies made but was a successful night with a good attendance and good time had by all.
New site this year, bit down on numbers. We did ok on the MAG stand taking a dozen or so memberships and plenty of MAG products sold. I was also involved in negotiations with City of Leather regarding corporate membership and advertising in the Road, hopefully something will come off this.
Took the MAG stand to this local rally. Good opportunity to distribute MAG literature although not very good on the membership sales front but didn’t help with the stall next door playing music that load that conversations were difficult. I will not be doing this rally again although the invite is open to others.
Had a ride down to Aberystwyth to pay my respects and represent the North West at Ian’s Funeral. An emotional day for a true Gent.
From a sad occasion to one of joy! It was a great to be invited and to go to John Marsden, the Furness MAG Rep’s wedding at Dalton football club to Mandy, another passionate MAG member. Great bunch and fantastic party with many Furness MAG and NW MAG members in attendance.
Things have taken a turn for the worst with Greg Philipson giving notice that he will not be able to continue developing the new MAG web-site. I have had brief discussions with others about this but will need discussing at the June Board & NC meetings. I am continuing to keep the National web-site up-to-date with the news items and meeting/contact details as well as the affiliated clubs page.
· Continuing to work closely with the organisers of the Great North-West Motorcycle Festival so that MAG will have a very strong presence during the August Bank Holiday weekend.
· Continuing to help produce and distribute the monthly NW Newsletter. Past issues can be viewed on the North-West MAG website. http://north-west-region.mag-uk.org
· I have booked the MAG van on the ferry for next year’s TT races and hope to be able to sell advertisement to local IOM businesses in the lead up to the races with help of the local bike club who I know well. Need to discuss the possibility of a TT supplement in April 2018 issue of the Road.
· Blackpool MAG are busy getting ready for the 20th Rally in a few weeks’ time. All other NW local groups operational but quiet.
