North West Reps Report June-July 2017

10- 11th: June - MAG Board & NC Meeting, Wren Hall,

I attended Board meeting on the Friday night and the Board meeting on the Saturday morning and the NC meeting in the afternoon.

23-25th June: - Blackpool MAG 20th Seaside Rally

Rally went really well although we were down on numbers from last year. Still managed to make a good profit which has been sent to Central

1st July :- Blackpool Stanley Park Bike Show

For the 10th year in succession we successfully booked the sunshine. Good turnout with 3-400 bikes and trikes turning up on the day. Good amount of money made for the NW funds.

13-16th July:- Millennium BC Rally.

I was booked to be at the Furness MAG Dead End Rally and so Bill Preston took the MAG stand to this 4 day event. Not much interest shown but at least we have shown support to this MAG affiliated club.

19th July: - GNWMF meeting at Blackpool Winter Gardens

Had out usual Blackpool MAG meeting at the Winter Gardens so that we could go through what will be expected of us over the festival weekend and where we can set up the MAG membership stands..

26th July: - NW Alliance meeting, Avernus MCC clubhouse Chorley

Attended on behalf of NW MAG and Jesters MCC. Well attended meeting with good discussion. Manchester HAMC reported that they had raised close to £20k for the “Manchester Bee” fund in aid of the M.E.N. bombing victims through their network of Studio 81 Tattoo shops. Although news of this collection has been passed onto the Manchester Evening News, they seem reluctant to publish it. Seems that when bikers do something good it does not make the news, but step the other side of the line and it is all over the tabloids.

National IT Matters

Hoping to get more involved with development of the new website but need to do a crash course in Word press sites. I am continuing to keep the National web-site up-to-date with the news items and meeting/contact details as well as the affiliated clubs page.

Other News and future events;        .

·         Continuing to work closely with the organisers of the Great North-West Motorcycle Festival so that MAG will have a very strong presence during the August Bank Holiday weekend.

·         Continuing to help produce and distribute the monthly NW Newsletter. Past issues can be viewed on the North-West MAG website. http://north-west-region.mag-uk.org

·          Blackpool MAG have booked Blackpool RUFC for our annual Halloween and Bonfire Party on 4th November.

·         All other NW groups are quite but functional.

·         Will not be at the August Board and NC as running the National MAG stand at the Bulldog Bash 2017.

Best Regards,

Tony.
